In superb conditions and playing on a superb surface we met a team that produced a superb performance.
We were second best in most areas and it was only thanks to a super effort from our boys that we managed to stop the score running away. Matt had another excellent game, tackling well, pressurising the opposition and he looked dangerous in attack.
Sidd is improving all the time and he won the ‘Man of the Match’ award for his thoughtful, positive play as scrum half. Will scored the try of the match when he tackled an opponent over our try line, stole the ball and ran the length of the field to score! The crowd got very excited at this point!
Alex made some powerful runs, often looked a threat and scored our second try. James worked tirelessly throughout and was part of a sound scrum.
Stamford scored eight tries to our two and thoroughly deserved their 54-14 victory.
