On Saturday 3rd September Miss Finn celebrated her wedding to Mr James Hunt at St James the Greater Church. Despite the rainy day the ceremony was beautiful with some lovely hymns and a choir. The children from 2JV ( last term) had made the bride a fantastic good luck charm which she wore on the day. The couple then went on to celebrate at their reception, held at Brooksby Hall, where the weather had improved, enabling some lovely photos to be taken in the beautiful surroundings. Later that evening many of her Stoneygate friends joined her to dance the night away!
Good luck for your future together Mr and Mrs Hunt.
Woody celebrates his 6th birthday today.
During the holiday, Rosie and Taran also celebrate birthdays.

On Monday Year 1 enjoyed their trip to Stanwick Lakes as part of their life-cycles and pond dipping topic. The weather stayed fine, so we were able to pond dip, play a game of “fishy fishy”, eat lunch outside, walk a mile around the lake, play on the adventure playground and eat ice-cream! What a super day.
Eva celebrated her birthday on Sunday. Her party at Twycross zoo sounded great.
Look how we have grown, we are now 2 weeks old!
All the cockerels are looking for new homes. If you are interested please see Mrs Sillett (Year 1- in the mobiles).
OOOphelia rode her show pony at the British show pony society show on Saturday. Barkway Tia Dalma and Ophelia have qualified for the world famous Horse of the Year show at the NEC in October, currently they are the top combination in the UK. Ophelia rode in a hail storm during her show and was drenched! Good luck for October.
Yet another fantastic Sports day, enjoyed by all. Thank you Mrs Cave.
Happy 6th Birthday Ophelia.
We can’t wait to hear and see photos of your pony painting party……yes with real ponies in case you were wondering!!!

We welcome Odera to Year 1. We hope he will be very happy at Stoneygate.
Well done to Pre-Prep who performed some superb songs during their concert on Tuesday.
Thank you to Mr and Mrs Ashwin.
It has been an EGG-cellent week, as we have been looking at the life cycle of a hen. We have studied closely a real hen’s egg, naming the different parts.
Q. Do you know what the chalaza is?
A. The stringy part that holds the yolk in place.
The most EGG-citing news to share is…. that Year 1 are incubating their own hen eggs.
Mrs Sillett’s daughter has kindly lent us some of her hen’s eggs in the hope that we will be able to hatch out chicks…..it is a 21 day process so watch this space!!
Finally as a part of our English lessons on adjectives we had to describe certain sweets through 4 of our 5 senses. Our favourite part was definitely the tasting part, however lots of us described the Black Jack as yucky, disgusting and horrible. Can you guess who had tried them in the pictures above?
…we have visited the Prep library. We enjoyed looking at the non-fiction books and working out their colour code system.
All our Painted Lady butterflies have hatched and we enjoyed the chance to hold and observe them more closely before releasing them on a nice sunny day.
The tadpoles have a much slower life cycle, we are STILL waiting for them to grow back legs.
In English we have been learning about punctuation. We have focused on question marks and are now looking at exclamation marks. In honour of Leicester City winning the league we thought about what Jamie Vardy and Claudio Ranieri might be saying in some of the pictures above.
