On Monday Year 1 enjoyed their trip to Stanwick Lakes as part of their life-cycles and pond dipping topic. The weather stayed fine, so we were able to pond dip, play a game of “fishy fishy”, eat lunch outside, walk a mile around the lake, play on the adventure playground and eat ice-cream! What a super day.
Eva celebrated her birthday on Sunday. Her party at Twycross zoo sounded great.
Look how we have grown, we are now 2 weeks old!
All the cockerels are looking for new homes. If you are interested please see Mrs Sillett (Year 1- in the mobiles).
What a fantastique French Day we had yesterday.
Again Year 2 excelled themselves with lots of lovely French style costumes. We started the day with French colouring and number activities, then we all attended a wonderful assembly where Year 2 were very impressed with the wonderful plays and songs performed by Years 3 to 8! Next it was time to jump on our bikes and scooters and take part in a ‘Stoneygate Tour De France’. Wow!! Everyone whizzed around the course!!
The winners will be announced soon!
After a French style lunch it was time for a delicious crepe from Monsieur Crepe and a lovely creamy hot chocolate provided by the lovely ladies of the SSA.
A highlight of Year 2’s French Day was Mrs Lawrence, Charles’s mother, coming to teach us animal names. We had great fun learning how to pronounce the names and were amazed how many we could remember!!
We all decided French day was magnifique!!!

Well done to Griffin in Year 1 who won a prize for one of the best french themed costumes.
The Reception children had great fun taking part in French Day. The children were really successful sticking to the ‘Stoneygate Tour De France’ track and all enjoyed a well deserved crepe afterwards!! What a fantastic day we all had.
In Pre -School there was a very authentic looking Café Francais which parents were able to enjoy as they came to collect their children. A variety of delicious French cheeses. some baguettes and even red and white wine (!) were on offer – Fantastique!!
We have been decorating our classroom with tinsel and ornaments that we have made.
Ophelia decorated a tree that she had painted.
All the children helped to decorate the tree in the classroom.
The tree in the foyer is much bigger than ours!
