A thick sticky problem for year 5

We learned that a thick liquid is called viscous. We got it a bit muddled up at first with the word vicious but once we sorted out that liquids weren’t about to attack us, we got on with our experiment.

We tested a variety of liquids and timed how long they took to reach the bottom of a large tile. Here we are in action. We found that soap was the most viscous liquid. It never even made it to the bottom all lesson! Water and vinegar were the least viscous, with milk a close third. Well done year 5
