Year 8 science

Year 8 investigate natural selection. They are working with different types of “bird beaks” disguised as tweezers, pegs and spoons. We found that some beak types worked better than others on certain foods. The birds with the best beaks were more likely to feed successfully,  survive, and pass on their genes to the next generation.

The behaviour of the birds was interesting too, especially if there was a food shortage!
