Colts B v Leicester Grammar B Colts Rugby

On Wednesday the Colts B team played at Market Harborough RFC against Leicester Grammar.
The team was: James B (Capt), Will McE, Will M, Tom M, George H, Alex M, Kian D, Bertie L and Lucas H.
This proved to be an impressive performance by the B team as they dominated Leicester Grammar from the outset.
Our first up tackling was very strong and despite some good play Leicester Grammar hardly ever broke through our defensive line. Lucas, James, Will, Tom, Will McE, Alex, Kian and George were all tackled well.
In the first half we scored five tries. Two came from Alex and one from Lucas, George and James. Our running with the ball and recycling of possession from mauls and rucks showed lots of the skills we have worked on in recent practices.
With the game already won by half time we decided to weaken our team for the second half to allow Leicester Grammar to see more of the play.
We took off a player every time we scored a try.
In the second half they scored two tries to our four. Our tries came from Will M, Kian, Alex and James. The most satisfying aspect of the this half was our defence. At some points we played with six players against their nine and we still held them at bay.
The ‘Man of the Match’ award went to our captain, James and George H won the ‘Champagne Moment’ award, for one of his attacking runs where he made a huge distance upfield.
It was a very satisfying afternoon for our boys.
Thanks go to Leicester Grammar and to all the parents that supported our boys.
