Year 8 were set a challenge, the marshmallow challenge! They had to make the highest tower possible using only 24 sticks of dried spaghetti and a marshmallow, a metre of string and a metre of tape. The marshmallow had to finish up on the top of the tower and remain complete. Spaghetti could not be taped to the bench but could be broken. They were given eighteen minutes to complete the challenge.
Here’s what happened… Can you spot the winning tower, and the ones which were disqualified?!
The winners were Jemima, Chloe and Will from 8DP with a 50 cm tower. The secret was in good planning, careful manipulation of the brittle spaghetti and a big wide base! Well done team. The prize – a marshmallow!
