On Thursday afternoon 2HM welcomed Tom from Hannah’s Chocolate in Quorn to start our topic on the history of chocolate. Tom visited us to give us a talk and demonstration on where chocolate comes from, how it is made and what amazing creations you can make with it. We all enjoyed finding out about the history of chocolate and an insight into the process behind extracting the cocoa butter and how cocoa powder is used. We smelt cocoa beans and found out how milk, white and dark chocolate is made. As a lovely treat Tom made us bronze and gold sprayed chocolates and he left us with an amzing ‘crazy frog’ centre piece which demonstrated piping, transfer, modelling and mould techniques. This will be used as a prize for fantastic homework next week!! Yummy!!
