U11A girls Rounders v Brooke Priory

U11A Girls Rounders v Brooke Priory

on Wednesday 7th May – Home

On Wednesday 7th May 2014 the U11 A team played against Brooke Priory. Unfortunately halfway through the game it got called off because of the rain, leaving Brooke Priory with 14 more good balls (Stoneygate already having had 30 good balls). Brooke Priory won the toss and chose to field first. Gracie batted first and she hit the ball, scoring us our first ½ rounder. They fielded well but when Gracie hit the ball a very long way they did not manage to stump her out and so she scored a tremendous rounder. Molly and Freya also scored amazing rounders, hitting the ball a long way out. Unfortunately Georgina and Antonia both got out on their second go and Pippa got out on her third go. Gracie scored another 2 rounders (scoring 3½ in total) before the end of the first innings, where we scored 11 ½ rounders.
Brooke Priory’s turn came to bat and we were tight in the field. Molly stumped out 2 girls and Georgina, Gracie and Antonia all caught someone out. After 16 good balls the rain was too heavy to play in and we had to end the game, as they did not bring their football boots. The score was 11 ½-0 to us, with 14 more bats for Brooke Priory.
The team was Gracie Fraser, Molly Johnson, Eleanor Benson, Eloise Furber, Pippa Neal, Freya Astill, Antonia Veary, Josephine Chawner and Georgina Tyler (captain). Well done to the whole team!

By Georgina Tyler (Capt.)

Special mention to Gracie Fraser for outstanding bowling and very much improved batting

Player of the match – Molly Johnson, who showed how her batting practice had paid off since last week.
